Our first stop will be the historic town of Beaufort where we will take a ferry or kayak (your choice) to the complex of estuarine islands that comprise the Rachel Carson Reserve. We will spend the day wildlife-watching, shelling, swimming, hiking and otherwise enjoying this pristine, peaceful 2300 acre nature reserve.

After leaving the Rachel Carson Reserve Saturday afternoon, we will make the short trip to Emerald Isle, a popular beach on the N.C. Crystal Coast. After checking into the Islander Hotel and Resort, we will enjoy a catered, outdoor, dinner on the beach. Sunday at Emerald Isle will be a free-play day where you can relax on the beach, swim in the Atlantic, fish on the pier, or enjoy any of Emerald Isle's many activities. The weekend will be capped off with a traditional Carolina event: the Low Country Seafood Boil.
